K-DST is a radio station appearing in the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, playing in a classic rock format. On the radio station, in addition to music and advertising, there are crazy jokes and banter about “rap crap”, and sometimes listeners call the studio and criticize the presenter in every possible way for his DJ skills, which is why he begins to insult them. According to one of the jingles, K-DST began broadcasting in 1970. At the time the game takes place, the radio station's headquarters is located somewhere in Los Santos.

1. Why 1992?

– Because in 1992 the events of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas take place. It is logical that the current year for this radio station would be 1992.

2. Why did you put exactly 17 tracks in your alternative version? Why not 15, 20 or more?

– I always try to make my alternative radio stations as close to the original as possible: as closely as possible to the original I try to repeat the style of the tracks played on the original radio station, the frequency of advertising and news on the air, etc. Including the number of songs - if the original had 17 (as on K-DST), then there will be 17 in my alternative version. I also put one song from the original radio station, because I want to leave a "piece" of the original.

3. Why did you make a live background? Why not just a static image?

– I find static images a bit boring. That’s why I myself record the footage in the game in a place that I associate with this radio station. In addition, you can better feel the atmosphere of the radio if there is a living game world in the background.

4. What programs and resources do you use to create your alternative radio stations?

– I work on the audio part in Audacity and sometimes in the PRO version of Virtual DJ, and on the visuals in СapСut (PC version). I use a lot of resources, for example: Discogs, Wikipedia and YouTube, as well as my music collection.

5. Will there be other alternative radio stations?

– Yes, I like to do this, it’s my hobby - collecting music and making alternative radio stations, but there won’t be videos often. There will be both alternative radio stations, and completely new ones - as I call them, “custom” (a completely new radio station: from jingles and host, to new tracks. I already have a lot of ideas for this), as well as completely alternative soundtracks (for example: alternative soundtrack for Need For Speed: Underground 2).
