"Ada and the Engine” Opens Sept. 13 | GCU Ethington Theatre

GCU’s College of Arts and Media is excited to announce Ethington Theatre’s new show, “Ada
and the Engine,” opening Friday, Sept. 13.

Step into the wild world of the British Industrial Revolution, where Ada Byron Lovelace, daughter of the legendary Lord Byron, sees the limitless potential in her friend Charles Babbage’s invention—the first-ever mechanical computer. Not only does Ada dream of a future where art and tech collide, but she also writes the first program for Babbage’s digital computer prototype, earning her the title of the first computer programmer. This is more than a story of love and friendship; it’s a music-filled journey into the boldest dreams of tomorrow. Think Jane Austen meets Steve Jobs in this edgy, pre-tech romance that’s all about the dawn of the digital age.
