Daughter of the famous Verdi baritone, Francesco Pandolfini (1827-1916), she made her debut without special study of singing (1894) in Modena as Marguerite in Faust. She sang at the Royal Opera in Malta (1894-95) and came to La Scala in 1897; there she sang Mimi in the first performance at that house of La Boheme. Thereafter she had a brilliant starring career at La Scala and other leading Italian opera houses. On November 6, 1902, she sang the title role in the world premiere of Andriana Lecouvreur opposite Enrico Caruso at the Teatro Lirico. She made guest appearances at the Teatro Sao Carlo in Madrid, Barcelona, and at the Teatro Colon. In 1909, after her marriage, she withdrew from musical life.
