Over the last few years, Real Estate has seen record home appreciation.

But only recently have we seen house prices decrease slightly {2.4%} from the peak in June 2022.

The question is, how far would prices have to drop to undo the equity gained over the last few years?

House prices would need to decrease 5% to lose the appreciation gained since February 2022.

House prices would need to dip 10% to lose the appreciation gained since October 2021.

House prices would need to fall 15% to lose the appreciation gained since June 2021.

House prices would need to tumble 20% to lose the appreciation gained since February 2021.

House prices would need to plunge 25% to lose the appreciation gained since October 2020.

With an example of today's price being $550,000 . . .

5%= $522,500
10% = 495,000
15% = $467,500
20% = $440,000
25% = $412,500

We can't predict the future . . .
. . . but we do know prices would need to fall significantly in order to cancel out the equity that has been gained the last couple of years.
