Anupama Rao, MD, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK, highlights the necessity for increasing clinician awareness in regard to the presence of germline predispositions to hematological malignancies, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), in pediatric patients. Most hematological predispositions present as common conditions, and a national observational study for pediatric germline predisposition syndromes will aim to make clinicians aware that a proportion of their patients will have these predispositions. Clinicians will be encouraged to reach out to centers of expertise to create well-annotated cohorts of patients. This interview took place at the 64th Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) Congress in Liverpool, UK.
