President Trump has nominated White House aide Lindsey Halligan to be the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia after a falling out with the current U.S. attorney.

That office has been investigating New York Attorney General Letitia James over alleged mortgage fraud, but no charges have been brought forward.

On social media, the president posted a message directed to Attorney General Pam Bondi urging action against former FBI Director James Comey, California Senator Adam Schiff, and James.

"They were ruthless and vicious. I was impeached twice. I was indicted 5 times. It turned out to be a fake deal, and we have to act fast one way or the other, one way or the other. They're guilty. They're not guilty. We have to act fast," Trump said.

Last month, the FBI raided the home of Trump critic and former National Security Advisor John Bolton, just one of many political foes now being probed by the DOJ.
