According to him, the Indian pharma industry has officially become export-oriented, growing significantly year-on-year. He further states that the government is focusing on quality, with India aiming to become the world’s reliable pharmacy. Major global pharma companies are expanding their footprint in India, and a growing number of Contract Research Manufacturing and Development Organisations (CRDMO) are emerging. Chawla concludes by noting that India’s innovation and regulatory framework is also undergoing transformation to support this growth.
