Honey Bee Early Pollen Sources, Salix discolor (Willow) provides early feed for Honey Bee Brood

Описание к видео Honey Bee Early Pollen Sources, Salix discolor (Willow) provides early feed for Honey Bee Brood

If you want to plant trees or bushes that provide early pollen for your honey bees, then these willow trees can be very valuable and you will know when your brood will begin to grow. Tree pollen is generally the earliest that your honey bees will use as their protein source for spring brood buildup.

I have another video coming up tomorrow... but for now, here are the current conditions here on my land. Warmed up and then rained of course.
I am amazed at how resilient the honey bees have proven to be. And one colony is actually sending out scouts in the rain!
Salix discolor is an American variety of Pussy Willow and is a great source for pollen and some nectar.
I thought I'd just post this for those who've been waiting for "something" from me lately.
The next video will show that I was visited by a large Black Bear that did some damage... yes, you get to see the bear!
Watch for that video tonight or tomorrow.
Enjoy and I hope that wherever you live, your spring conditions are better than mine!

The Pussy Willow tree/shrub can grow to 20' and generally spreads to 15' is hardiness Zone 2-7, I'm in zone 4, and can handle sub zero temps to -50 deg. f.

I'm planting six of them this spring as part of my "nutritious" wind-break.
