Austin Mini Classic Differential End Cover Bushing

Описание к видео Austin Mini Classic Differential End Cover Bushing

The new bushings are undersized and need reaming or boring once they are press fitted in.
The differential side end cover bushings due wear and at +.006" bigger in diameter which causes radial slop; in-turn wearing out the end oil seal causing oil drips. Just replacing the oil seal will only work for a few thousand km's.
Replacing the bushings should be done if the difference between the pot joint and the bushing is more than .003".
If you are using the original pot joints be sure the ground surface is smooth and burr free, if not use 600 grit emery paper and rotate it radially around. Clean carefully any grit/dirt.
Measure the pot joint diameter before reaming out the bushing.
the difference should be +.001" running clearance up to +.003".
Bushing once pressed in and aligned to the oil gallery are -.006" or around Ø1.243", ream or bore out to +.001 over pot joint diameter. Most pot joint diameters I measured are Ø1.249 giving a finished ream of Ø1.250". After boring or reaming, check for burrs along edges, if present use 600 grit emery paper and deburr radially the ends.
Insert a new oil seal all the way in and straight. they actually sit inside the end cover a bit to give clearance to the plastic oil flinger if installed.
