Xenogears - Grahf (Boss)

Now this is what I call a scary badass boss fight.

Overview

Grahf is the kind of boss that just loves to intimidate you. And he's allowed to, because he can back it up. You're not really meant to win this fight, and you practically don't even if you do. You'll see what I mean.

As for Grahf himself, Fei meets him early in the game and taunts him that he wants Fei's power to grow because he is destined to destroy God. Fei is majorly confused by this and considers Grahf an enemy.

Grahf also refuses to attack Elly in this fight, although he won't mention it, you'll notice none of his attacks hit her in this. As usual, there's a major hilarious reason for this, but it would be massive spoilers for so early in the game to explain why, so just stay confused for now.

Fei: LV37 - Metal Jacket, Knight Helm, Power Ring

Gear: Extra Ar+3, Extra Ar+1, Frame HP50
Elly: LV31 - Magical Rod - Leather Vest, Leather Hat, AntiEthStone
Gear: Hot RodG - Lite Ar+, Beam Jammer, Frame HP10

Strategy

You're not meant to win, but you can if you're either lucky or play fairly smart. Grahf hits HARD. He can hit you twice in one move, and do tons of damage, likely 1500+ each move. So you're going to want to end this fast. What sucks is that you can't do Deathblows on Grahf, because this game won't allow you to do Gear Deathblows on human enemies. So just use X. Elly is pretty weak, but Rico and Fei should be dealing a good amount of damage. Don't forget you have Frame HP30 if you need it. Boosters help as well.

He only has 5000 HP, so if you take that out or if Rico/Fei are taken out, the fight ends. Nothing changes or is different either way.
