Multilevel Spondylosis is not a condition itself. It refers to the degeneration of multiple levels or sections of the spine.

The spine is divided into the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine; each section is made up of vertebrae separated by intervertebral discs. Spondylosis can most commonly occur in the cervical spine, where we can see a loss of lordosis. The lumbar spine is another place where we can see Spondylosis happen.

It's severe form can be severe degeneration extending and causing an unnatural amount of degeneration along the spine. Where we see multiple areas affected, we refer to multi-leveled degenerative Spondylosis.

What usually causes us to see multilevel Spondylosis usually has something to do with the alignment or pressure of different areas of the spine. Usually, trauma can cause the spine to shift out of alignment. Which, over time, would cause the area to degenerate faster than the surrounding areas of the spine.
Asymmetrically carrying excess weight, chronic poor posture, and sedentary lifestyles can increase the risk of injury, which can lead to Spondylosis.

The first things that go through degeneration when the spine is not in proper alignment are the intervertebral disc. When not properly aligned, they lose the healthy cushioning between them and lead to friction and degeneration.

Spondylosis needs to be treated proactively to help prevent its progressive nature and the effects it can have on spinal function. Preventing further degeneration by dealing with its cause which is commonly related to the alignment of the spine; if we can get proper alignment closer to normal, we can slow degeneration or stop it altogether.

The Scoliosis Reduction Center offers practice treatment driven by addressing this alignment issue which is the underlying cause of Spondylosis.
