Lucas Chianca's run of XXL waves just can't be stopped!

Brazilian charger Lucas “Chumbo” Chianca is fast making a name for himself as one of the world’s most fearless and highly skilled big wave surfers. While he was born and raised in Saquarema, best known as one of the WSL Championship Tour’s high performance stops, Chumbo has caught the global eye on the strength of his game when conditions go rogue, as seen in this latest instalment of My Last Two Winters.

The edit above sees Chumbo book an around-the-big-wave-world ticket from Nazaré, Portugal to Mavericks in California, across the Pacific to Tahiti, before finishing back at the scene of his greatest success, Praia do Norte in Nazaré. Here in Portugal we see Chumbo claim yet another trophy alongside his partner-in-XXL, Kai Lenny, as Team Young Bulls once again clean up at the WSL’s Nazare Tow Surfing Challenge.

For Chumbo however surfing is about much more than trophies, and this edit is a tribute to his dedication to his craft. For a surfer from Brazil to earn the respect that he has, and travel and surf with the crew that he does – take a bow Kai Lenny and Ian Walsh – speaks volumes about the level to which Chumbo pushes himself, and the pure spirit with which he does it.

O vídeo acima acompanha Chumbo pelo mundo das ondas gigantes partindo de Nazaré, Portugal, passando por Mavericks, na Califórnia, cruzando o Pacífico até o Taiti e finalizando no palco onde já está acostumado a brilhar: A Praia do Norte, em Nazaré.
