7 - Designing a Fiddle Yard Cassette System at Donnington Castle Model Railway

Today at Donnington Castle Model Railway we are designing a Fiddle Yard Cassette System. The system is used on the ‪@newburymodelrailwayclub‬ Lambourn layout. It may also be an interesting solution if there is ever an extension to the Southern region lines here at DCMR.

We cover the 3d design process, laser cutting and 3D printing of the main components. We also look at powering the cassettes using copper tape. Finally we look at refinements to the system using jigs and a rerailing system.
