The Galo Students' Union (GSU) has issued a Charter of Demands and declared a 12-hour Bandh Call on October 1, 2024, from 5 AM to 5 PM in West Siang, Leparada, and Lower Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Below are the details of the charter:

Charter of Demands:

1. Immediate functionalization of the new extension campus of Rajiv Gandhi University at Donyi Polo Government College, Kamki, West Siang District.


2. Issuance of notification to concerned departments for the immediate start of the Science stream at Donyi Polo Government College, Kamki, West Siang District.


3. Immediate sanction of a playground at Government Model College, Basar, Leparada District.


4. Immediate granting of Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers to the Principal of Government Model College, Basar, Leparada District.


5. Immediate transfer-posting of supporting staff to Government Model College, Basar, Leparada District.



Requirements for Ministerial/Contingency Staff at Government Model College, Basar:

1. UDC (Upper Division Clerk) - 2 positions


2. LDC (Lower Division Clerk) - 3 positions


3. Technical Assistant/Computer Operator - 2 positions (for Common University Entrance Test Centre)


4. Librarian - 1 position


5. Peon - 5 positions


6. Sweeper - 3 positions


7. Cook - 4 positions



These demands and the resulting Bandh Call reflect the Galo Students' Union's push for improvements in the functioning and infrastructure of educational institutions in their region.
