Polygon Cruncher for 3ds Max: reduce polygon count and bake Normal Maps

Описание к видео Polygon Cruncher for 3ds Max: reduce polygon count and bake Normal Maps

This video, made by John from Idea3D, shows a concrete use of Polygon Cruncher for Autodesk 3ds Max.
It shows how to simplify an huge mesh by decimating it, reducing the polygon count.
A starfish is simplified and its normals are baked in a map using xNormals. . The final LOD object is then comparable to its original but the number of faces went from 4.6 million faces to less than 5000 thanks to Polygon Cruncher.
The video also shows the way to bake normals once the mesh is reduced in order to give more realism to the result.
