How to Use Clean-Trace Hygiene Monitoring and Management System ATP Swabs

Learn how to swab a surface using the Clean-Trace ATP test swab.

Be sure that the swab and luminometer are at room temperature, and remove a Clean-Trace ATP swab from the foil package. Using the ATP swab, swab the test area in one direction, applying consistent pressure while rotating the swab. Then re-swab the same area going in the opposite direction. Next, insert the swab into the tube and activate it by shaking the tube for 5 seconds to mix the sample with the reagent. Once activated, the swab can be dropped into the Clean-Trace Luminometer chamber. In about 7 seconds, the Clean-Trace Luminometer will display the reading in relative light units (RLUs). After the reading is displayed, remove the swab from the Clean-Trace device to avoid possible leakage.
