Umineko/Higurashi AMV --- a message from Lady Bernkastel to Furude Rika
This was inspired by the lyrics of Bernkastel's image song, Seizensetsu, which depicts the deeper, sadder side of Bernkastel. One interpretation of the relationship between Rika and Bernkastel states that Bernkastel was originally a being without a form inside Rika (or maybe the world of kakera) that stores all of Rika's memories throughout the many worlds/fragments she's been through. Everytime Rika dies in a world and gets sent to the next world (through Hanyuu's powers), "Bern's" memories replace those of the true Rika of that world. A good example would be Saikoroshi-hen, where "Rika" feels guilty about taking over the true Rika of that world's body, and concludes that it's too late to apologize to that Rika directly, but the least she could do was not use the name Furude Rika. At that time, she was drinking from a wine bottle with the brand "Bernkastel", and she decides that she is the wine, since she cannot go on living without it, and forms the name FURUDERIKA-Bernkastel (later to be Frederica Bernkastel, who is the "100 year old witch"). However, after she returns to her previous world, the perfect world being a "dream" created by Hanyuu, she learns the truth about Hanyuu's power and decides to return to being the normal girl, Furude Rika. This is when she fully separates herself from Bernkastel (but probably still keeps the memories), and becomes actual different beings from each other. Lady Bernkastel in Umineko may be the darkest and saddest part of the personality of Frederica, which is why she's cruel and why her eyes have no light in them. This whole Rika/Bernkastel thing is really mind-twisting, since the line separating the existences of Furude Rika, Frederica Bernkastel, and Lady Bernkastel is blurred, yet somehow clear as well. :/

Believe it or not, this was made purely with iMovie 0_o which involved a lot of video-ception to get all the words on there. Fun fact: I was originally going to sneak in a little part of "You" (by dai) into the background at "Go on and decide...", but ultimately decided against it because it was a pain to edit tempo and pitch with garageband glitching up, and the results would've killed the melody because of all the conflicting notes. It actually does kind of fit in though, done correctly, if you think about it...

The song used is "Just a Little Girl" by Trading Yesterday. The clips and dialogue were all from the animes', Higurashi no naku koro ni (including Kai and Rei) and Umineko no naku koro ni, op/ed's and episodes. The "When They Cry" series is a product of 07th Expansion. The pic at the end was found on deviantART: http://pokey-chan.deviantart.com/art/...
