NIA Reaches Ground Zero in Beldanga Case Investigation

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now reached ground zero to probe the Beldanga incident. On Saturday afternoon, NIA officials carried out an on-site investigation at Barua More in Beldanga.

A four-member NIA team, accompanied by Beldanga Police personnel, visited Barua More, where they cross-checked documents and verified detailed information related to the unrest. Incidents of violence were reported in Beldanga on January 16 and 17, with blockade and vandalism taking place at Barua More on January 17.

It may be noted that a forensic team had also visited Barua More on January 20. A three-member forensic team collected samples, inspected various locations, and documented the area through videography. Along with sample collection, members of the forensic team also visited Beldanga Police Station.

Meanwhile, the NIA has intensified its investigation into the Beldanga case. From Saturday morning, NIA investigating officers made multiple visits to Beldanga Police Station, the Superintendent of Police’s office, and the Berhampore Court. Later in the afternoon, the NIA team conducted a detailed inspection of the incident site as part of the ongoing investigation.
