In April 2015, more than two hundred musicians, visual and performing artists, cultural activists, philosophers and other European, American and Middle Eastern intellectuals will join in the Global Week for Syria, a multi-disciplinary call for peace and reconciliation in Syria.

The artists and other participants call on a wide international audience to demonstrate their solidarity with the Syrian people, and stand with Syrian musicians and artistic intelligentsia in their aspiration to preserve Syria’s unique and rich heritage.

The program of Global Week for Syria includes:

● a five-day festival in Beirut representing different music styles (world/rock/jazz);
● six live concerts and fundraising events in The Netherlands, France, Austria and Spain for Syrian refugees in Syria, Lebanon and Northern Iraq;
● panel discussions and talks with scholars and cultural activists on pressing topics like the preservation of the cultural heritage in times of conflict;
● more than 100 online performances and 30 interviews with respected Syrian intellectuals in the diaspora continuously streamed online.
