The NetWorker environment provides the ability to protect an enterprise against data loss. As the enterprise grows, so does the complexity and importance of protecting data. The NetWorker software provides the power and flexibility to meet these challenges. The NetWorker software is a cross-platform, client/server application that provides the ability to remotely manage all NetWorker servers from a web-enabled, graphical interface.

Networker Backup Server
The NetWorker Server is a collection of processes and programs that are installed on a host that performs NetWorker services. The NetWorker Server also acts as a storage node and can control multiple remote storage nodes.
Networker Management Console
The NetWorker Management Console (NMC) server or Console server is a Java-based web application and database server. The NMC Server manages all NetWorker Servers and Clients. The NMC Server also provides reporting and monitoring capabilities for all NetWorker Servers and Clients in the environment. NMC Server relies on the NetWorker Authentication Service for user account authentication.
A NetWorker Management Console (NMC) client is any host in the environment that uses a web browser and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to display the NMC Server GUI. Multiple users can access the NMC Server GUI simultaneously, from different browser sessions. In this instance, the RS Components Windows Jump Server will be the main NMC client.

Networker Storage Node
NetWorker can back up data to local devices on a NetWorker Server or remote devices on a storage node. A storage node controls storage devices such as DD Boost (DDVE instance) and other storage devices. If a NetWorker client does not use Client Direct, the NetWorker storage node deduplicates the backup data, then sends the deduplicated data to the DD Boost devices.
