Two friends meet in the lounge of the Ritz Hotel in London to discuss their relationship with a recently deceased man. Ann (Deborah Kerr) was his wife and Debbie (Claire Bloom) was his mistress. Ian, the dead man, was unaware that his wife knew of his mistress or even that the two women in his life were friends. But as the conversation proceeds in the elegant surroundings, Ann and Debbie discover that Ian kept his own secrets from them too...
