Hey guys, welcome back to KnifeHog.com! Addison here and today I’ll be reviewing the Camillus Marlin Spike.

The Marlin Spike has an overall length of 6 ½”, a blade length of 2.6” and weighs 3.15 ounces. The blade is constructed of VG-10 steel and features a hollow ground edge with a sheepsfoot design. The handle is composed of textured, G-10 material and houses a stainless steel liner lock. A steel spike is also featured on this knife.

Overall, the Camillus Marlin Spike is an excellent EDC. Its tough as nails blade steel, textured handle material and heavy-duty spike make this the ideal companion for you to take on a hunting or camping trip. The VG-10 steel, accompanied by the Carbonitride Titanium body, is a perfect fit for this knife and allows you to whittle wood and cut through thick braids of rope and rubber hose with relative ease. The sheepsfoot design of the blade makes it very controllable and allows you to deal out clean cuts while slicing through tough materials. The textured G-10 material fitted on this knife provides you with a firm and durable grip, which comes in handy when you are making forceful cuts in in-climate weather. Typically, I am not a fan of liner locks but it seems to work well with this knife. The spike is another great feature of this knife because it could be used to puncture through just about anything. Honestly, I like everything about this knife but I am thrown off by the fact that there is no pocket clip; having no pocket clip severely limits your carry options. With this in mind, I give the Marlin Spike 4.5 out of 5 stars.
