This is Tyson available for adoption in Stanislaus county (Northern California). I want you to give him a trainer evaluation, as his previous videos with other dogs (beginning videos) did not look good. His notes said dog aggressive and I wanted to show what he could do with someone who spoke dog.

In order:
1. Before video (lunging, biting with muzzle)
2. After video (choosing calm on his own on a loose leash, the stick slides up and down the leash and allows for me to provide him with about 4-inches of a loose leash, you see him thinking and calm around the other dog, happy and relaxed).

I do not use any harsh training methods. I use a flat collar and teach the dog to walk on a loose leash I never jerk up and down the leash and punish him. The noise I am making is to calm his energy down to keep him de-escalated. I am using positive reinforcement by whistling and rewarding his good behavior. The entire time, my goal is to de-escalate and get a looser leash on him as a tense leash creates a tense dog. A reactive dog can absolutely be cured by teaching emotional regulation, respect of boundaries, impulse control, and using kindness to build a relationship.

I have many dog trainer friends who use all kinds of tools on the dogs and train differently than I do. I respect what they do and they are excellent at training dogs.

This is just my method and belief system. I am a therapist who works with people and dogs with trauma and use a trauma informed approach with two and four legged clients.

In order:

3. Respect with treats (taking gently)
4. Using spatial pressure to teach boundaries and calm his energy.
5. 6. 7. All teaching the loose leash walking technique.
8. BREAK TO PLAY AND BUILD RELATIONSHIP.
9. Respect of boundaries and resources.
10. Parallel walking (allowing him to gather information around the other dog through scent and reps of walking parallel together, that way when they meet, they are less excited to gather that information).
11. Rounds of getting a looser leash and keeping his brain with me through praise and practice.
12. Creating calm
