Second Life has long been a popular platform for game and experience creators.

One of the biggest complaints we've heard is about all the annoying permissions dialog boxes that pop up every time you need to interact with a scripted object in an experience — until now!

Introducing the latest in Linden Lab's "Advanced Creator" tool set: Experience Keys! This new feature allows you to opt-in to an experience with one pop-up — and all object permissions remain persistent throughout the experience.

If you relog into Second Life, all of your experiences are saved so you don't ever have to opt in again.

To get started, go to Me menu and select Experiences, then click the SEARCH tab.

For example, type "c" and hit Enter. The columns show experience content ratings, Names, and Owners. If you want to view Adult and Moderate experiences, change the Max Content Rating.

Click View Profile to learn more about an experience before teleporting there. If you've created an experience, be sure to fill this out to inform visitors and effectively promote your experience.

The "Cornfield" looks interesting, so let's check it out.

Cool! I'm in and playing without interruptions. Notice how when I get killed, it teleports me back to the starting area without asking me for my permission.

It simply feels like a more immersive experience. Also notice when I teleport away from the Cornfield, it's scripted to seamlessly detach stuff specific to that experience.

We realize that Experience Keys can offer tremendous value to existing Second Life experiences. We also know that it's a very powerful tool in the wrong hands.

That's why we've done extensive work so you can easily manage your experiences.

Want to leave an experience after accepting it? Simply open the Experiences window and go to the ALLOWED tab. Click on the experience, then click Forget and it will have to ask you to opt-in again, or if it's abusive, Block to deny its permissions.

If you're not sure which experience is causing you trouble, use the EVENTS tab to see what's affected you recently.

To report abusive content, click the Report Abuse button, and the form is auto-filled to help our support team pinpoint and discipline abusers as necessary. Make sure you fill out any other details that apply so we have a better understanding of what's happened to you. We take abuse seriously.

Experience Keys is in its final development phase and we're looking for high-quality experiences to beta test this toolset. We need your help to stress-test these features and demonstrate how easily experiences can be converted.

We'll provide the documentation, a link to the project viewer and supply one of the first keys available to you!
