ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਟੋਲੇ (ਕੀਮਤੀ ਕਪੜੇ) ਨਾਲ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਹਿਜਤਾ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ।

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਿ (ਇਜ਼ਤ, ਆਤਮਿਕ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ) ਬਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਮਾਇਆ, ਦੁੱਖ–ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੁੱਚੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਹਿਜ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਸਮਰਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਉਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਟੋਲਾ ਤੈ ਸਹਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਢਕਣ ਕੂ ਪਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
Praem Pattolaa Thai Sehi Dhithaa Dtakan Koo Path Maeree ||

Dhaanaa Beenaa Saaee Maiddaa Naanak Saar N Jaanaa Thaeree ||1||
You are all-wise and all-knowing, O my Master; Nanak: I have not appreciated Your value, Lord. ||1||

Thaiddai Simaran Habh Kishh Ladhham Bikham N Dditham Koee ||
By Your meditative remembrance, I have found everything; nothing seems difficult to me.

Jis Path Rakhai Sachaa Saahib Naanak Maett N Sakai Koee ||2||
One whose honor the True Lord Master has preserved - O Nanak, no one can dishonor him. ||2||
