80-20 rule AKA Pareto principle is your best friend during UPSC preparation. Because when we have to do so much and other than that we have to do current affairs, so prioritizing is very important for us. For that reason, if you do Polity and economy before art and culture, so that is going to be very useful for your preparation. For the very simple reason that I will study art and culture in ancient medieval, I will read a lot of content but still I may not be able to answer those questions as easily as I will do Polity and economy. And in the long run, Polity and economy and these basic subjects are helpful in your mains also. So focus your attention on the most important subjects first. The list is here on your screen. UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam.
