सर्जरी के टाइप्स इन ब्रेस्ट कैंसर:
Breast cancer में surgery कई तरह की होती है — जैसे lumpectomy (जहां सिर्फ lump हटाया जाता है) और mastectomy (जहां पूरा breast हटाया जाता है)। किस टाइप की surgery patient को चाहिए, ये depend करता है tumor की size, location और spread पर।
Dr. Neharika explain करती हैं कि अगर lump छोटा है, और early stage में पता चला है, तो breast बचाना possible होता है। लेकिन अगर cancer ज्यादा फैला है, या genetic risk ज्यादा है, तो full mastectomy better option होती है।
आजकल की surgeries advanced हो गई हैं और cosmetic outcomes भी better होते जा रहे हैं — जिससे recovery easy होती है और body image का impact भी कम होता है।

Mastectomy क्या होता है?
Mastectomy में breast का पूरा tissue remove किया जाता है — ताकि cancer cells completely बाहर निकाले जा सकें। कुछ cases में skin-sparing या nipple-sparing mastectomy भी की जाती है — जहां cosmetic outcome को भी ध्यान में रखा जाता है।
Dr. Neharika ये भी बताती हैं कि ये decision एकदम personal होता है, और इसे लेते वक्त surgeon की guidance, family support और emotional readiness बहुत ज़रूरी है। Surgery के बाद reconstructive surgery भी option होती है।

ब्रेस्ट कैंसर के लिए ज़रूरी टेस्ट्स:
Surgery से पहले कुछ जरूरी टेस्ट्स करने पड़ते हैं — जैसे mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, और कभी-कभी MRI। इससे पता चलता है कि tumor कितना बड़ा है, कौन से area में फैला है, और क्या lymph nodes भी involved हैं।
Dr. Neharika कहती हैं कि सही टेस्टिंग से ही सही treatment प्लान बनता है। इसलिए कोई भी step skip नहीं करना चाहिए। Biopsy से यह भी पता चलता है कि कौन सा cancer type है — hormonal है या नहीं — जिससे आगे का treatment तय होता है।

Mastectomy प्रोसेस और रिकवरी:
Surgery general anesthesia में होती है और usually 1–2 घंटे चलती है। Recovery में 1–2 दिन hospital stay रहता है। घर जाने के बाद 2 हफ्ते तक हल्का discomfort रह सकता है — लेकिन painkillers और proper care से ये manageable होता है।
Dr. Neharika बताती हैं कि कुछ patients को drainage tubes लगते हैं जो कुछ दिन में हट जाते हैं। Emotional recovery भी उतनी ही जरूरी है — इसलिए support system strong होना चाहिए। धीरे-धीरे हाथ की movement, dressing change, और physiotherapy भी help करते हैं।
