When most people think about everyday carry, they think knives, flashlights, and wallets. But sometimes the most important thing you’re carrying is information. That’s where a simple, well-designed sling can make a big difference.

In this video, I’m sharing a preliminary look at the Lochby Field Sling, a compact waxed canvas sling that’s been quietly fitting into my everyday routine. I didn’t pick this up because I needed another bag — I bought it because I wanted a clean, practical way to carry an iPad Mini without wearing a full backpack or an oversized tactical sling.

The Lochby Field Sling focuses on simplicity:
-Compact size that comfortably fits an iPad Mini
-Waxed canvas construction with an old-school feel
-Subtle organization without overcomplication
-Stable, simple strap system
-Clean, non-tactical appearance

This isn’t a do-it-all sling, and it doesn’t try to be. If you carry a lot of gear, it’s probably too small. If you want heavy padding or modern tech materials, waxed canvas may not be your thing. But for light carry, especially around an iPad Mini, this sling fits a very specific niche — and it does it well.

This is an early impression. I’ll be spending more time with it before giving a final verdict, but so far, it’s been a solid, understated piece of everyday carry gear.
