Climate change is predicted to raise the average temperature in the Sierra foothills as much as 5 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit this century. That warming combined with increased drought could scald grapes that are grown using traditional methods. Recent research from UC Davis found that the type of trellis - the structure used to support grape vines - can be a key factor in the success of future grape crops. Meteorologist Heather Waldman reports.
