TrueNAS Scale: Setting up a Static IP and Network Bridge // Access NAS host from VM

A Bridge Network is needed for Host/VM Communication on TrueNAS Scale

In this tutorial I explain TrueNAS Bridge Networking, how to configure a Static IP and make a Network Bridge without losing connectivity, and how to set bridge networking on your VMs and Sandboxes/Jails in order to correct Host “Destination Unreachable” VM network issues.

And finally I performance test the bridge network

TrueNAS Scale Dragonfish 24.04.0 was used for the recording.

NOTE: if you are using Apps, then you will need to unset the apps pool, and reselect the apps pool after configuring the bridge.
