"I've told them that my mom is going to be okay, that she's going to come back. They ask me "What happened, where is she?" That day was really strange; my mom was supposed to come, and I was waiting for her, but she hadn't arrived. I keep telling them that she's coming, that she's on her way."

STORYLINE:
As more than 2,000 federal agents surge in Minneapolis in an immigration crackdown and clash with protestors on the streets, residents are also finding ways to covertly disrupt the operation.

Former Trump supporter Feliza Martinez, a devote Christian, is rallying volunteers to support immigrant children with supplies and even safe houses as part of a local food bank program called Source MN.

Last Friday, Martinez brought a family of 10 — including eight children — to a safe house in south Minneapolis after their Ecuadorian mother, Melida Rita Wampash Tuntuam, was detained earlier this month and federal agents pursued her children.

The oldest siblings fear they will be separated from their five-month-old brother.
