Don Quixote written in 1605 by Miguel De Cervantes is perhaps the most influential work of literature from the Spanish Golden Age. As a founding work of modern Western literature, it regularly appears high on lists of the greatest works of fiction ever published.

Don Quixote on retirement has the time to read and is only now truly awakened to how the World really is. He appears to the 'sheeple' to have lost his mind due to lack of sleep and food from dedicating all of his time to reading. But we know the truth now don't we? This was written over 400 years ago and is as applicable today as it was then!

Man of La Mancha is a musical written for TV by Dale Wasserman and was broadcast live in 1959 to an audience of 20 million! It ended up on Broadway and elsewhere. The film version closely adheres to the original TV production. The screenplay is by Dale Wasserman and was produced and directed brilliantly by Arthur Hillier.

Although Quixote dies at the end of the film the message is powerfully optimistic and thought provoking. Perhaps thats why the 'Indusrtry' tried to sabotage this great work. There are great performances by Peter O'Toole and Sofia Loren ( I'd say that about Sofia even if she'd been mute !).

This is a beautiful film everybody should experience!
