STEPS

1. Cut a V shape into the neckline of a shirt and cut small holes along the edge of the V shape
2. Lace the holes with a loose criss-cross pattern with the leather thonging
3. Draw a zigzag line along the sleeve edges and bottom edge of the shirt. Cut along the drawn line to create a ragged edge
4. Cut two rectangles 10x15cm of yellow felt. Place together and stitch around the edges
5. Slip one end of the brown strip through one of the rectangles, then over the centre bar and back into itself with wrong sides together
6. Pin and stitch to secure
7. Thread the other end of the brown strip through the opposite way to create a belt
8. Using the hat template, cut out two hat shapes
9. Cut a length of elastic long enough to fit comfortably around the back of the head
10. On one hat, cut two slits approximately 20mm near the edges
11. Slip elastic through the small slits and secure in place on the opposite side with hot glue
12. Using the white felt, draw a skull and crossbones. Cut out shapes and use the hot glue to secure into place on the other hat
13. Cut a 55x55cm square of striped fabric
14. On each edge, create a 1cm rolled hem. Press and pin into place
15. Stitch the hem into place
