Описание к видео The Ottoman-Greek War of 1897

The Ottoman-Greek War of 1897, also called the Greco-Turkish War of 1897, was fought between the Kingdom of Greece and the Ottoman Empire, from the 18th of April until the 20th of May 1897. The Greeks were led by King George I, while in the Ottoman Empire sultan at that moment was Abdul Hamid II. The major battles took place at Velestino, Farsala and Domokos. The Greeks were defeated, and had to cede minor border areas in Thessaly, and to pay heavy reparations. In Crete, the Great Powers created an autonomous Cretan State under the suzerainty of the Ottoman Empire.
