Badger IFV & Rooikat AFV @ AAD 2014

The Badger IFV weighs 26.5 tons, has an effective operating range of 800km and can reach a speed of 100 km/h.
It has a crew of 3 and can carry 8 -10 troops. It has a single turret structure, that can be fitted with various weapons. A standard infantry carrier is armed with a 30mm cannon and coaxial 7.62mm gun. Turret versions include a 60mm long-range mortar; an anti-tank weapons carrier, armed with Ingwe anti-tank missiles, and a command post vehicle with a 12.7mm machine gun. The Badger will form the mainstay of South African mechanized infantry forces.

The Rooikat (African Lynx) fighting vehicle is designed for high-mobility combat operations. It has a crew of four. The original 76mm gun was upgraded to a rifled 105mm gun. Both the coaxial gun and the vehicle commander's weapon are 7.62-mm MG4s. A total of 32 rounds are carried for the main gun. The fire control system allows the Rooikat to engage enemy targets while on the move across rough terrain. The time between laser ranging the target and firing is approximately two seconds. It can travel 1,000km under its own power, has a road speed of 120 km/h and a cross country speed of approx 50 km/h.
