O enceramento diagnóstico auxilia no estabelecimento do equilíbrio entre função e estética, no diagnóstico final do caso e na simetria das arcadas, entre outros aspectos. Além disso, facilita a comunicação com o laboratório, diminuindo o tempo necessário para o término da confecção do mesmo, pois as alterações são feitas diretamente no arquivo STL, não sendo necessário o transporte do modelo encerado entre o laboratório e o seu consultório ou a adição ou subtração manual da cera.
