The reality of truth regarding the plight that exists in the first responder community in today’s climate can sometimes bring overwhelming pain & negative to our everyday lives, despite many of our best efforts to fight back against so much evil that seemingly prevails before our eyes. For that reason, this video is a positive reminder of the sheer good that does exists. In this case, as founder of The Resiliency Project, I would like to express my unyielding gratitude to Tom & Terri Tackett of the Patriotic Service Dog Foundation for their countless acts of kindness they extended to a stranger who needed help, love & support, in my darkest moments after losing everything once I medically retired from law enforcement. I lost my way, and they welcomed me into a special community of warriors who possessed a common understanding, a shared pain and introduced me to Stryker.

Being at their ranch, spending time with others who were in the same place I was, provided a starting point of healing which then turned my life around. Over time, I eventually became strong & confident enough to find a new purpose & start my own organization, The Resiliency Project. A team of angels joined our organization, who in turn helped support over 500 first responders nationwide. As the saying goes, “Iron sharpens Iron.” I will forever be grateful to Tom & Terri Tackett for helping me get my life back on track, they saved my life. They were strangers that became friends that became family. My heart is filled with gratitude as I have found a new purpose in life outside of being a police officer, which is to help other police officers and first responders.
