LIRR HD60fps: August Friday PM Rush Hour Railfanning @Lindenhurst feat. The Cannonball! (8/23/2024)

I decided to hit Lindenhurst Station on the Babylon Branch to kickoff my August Railfanning. I stayed from 4:50p to 6:15p, I saw diesels in this order: EB #16 (“The Cannonball!”) from Penn Station to Montauk, WB #45 from Speonk to Jamaica, and WB #17 from Montauk to Jamaica. Obviously, I also recorded MOST (probably around 90% of all the electrics) including most of the local ones, expresses, and the deadheads during my stay. As you might be able to see, #17 was running 40 minutes late due to police activity at Montauk and ended up running from Amagansett as #17AG.

I’ve been looking forward to checking out Lindenhurst, as I’ve always liked the station but never had the chance to go, so, I’m happy that I got to get a nice PM Rush Hour there.

One thing that I’d like to point out is that I’ve always had a fond love for Lindenhurst, but I feel like the transit community has slightly neglected this station. On YouTube, there aren’t two many videos of railfanning at this station at least compared to other Babylon Branch stations like Babylon, Massapequa Park, Massapequa, Wantagh, & Freeport.
