Individual throttle bodies mean that atmospheric pressure air is closer to the cylinders, thus improving throttle response. With tuned velocity stacks, they can be designed to create more horsepower for a specific RPM range. ITB's also have lower pumping losses at partial throttle versus single throttle body systems.
