Pre Haringey Councils St Ann's LTN, Ferndale Road N15 was a quiet road leading to Markfield Park and the National Cycle Network along the River Lea and 2 schools.
Haringey's LTN has effectively closed all north south routes to through traffic, in the area between Green Lanes and the A10, an area just under 2km wide.
The LTN has displaced traffic, which now rat-runs to bypass the A10 and St Anns LTN along Elm Park Avenue (and Fairview Road), before piling up along Ferndale Road, from the A10, often as far as Elm Park Avenue during the pm/eve rush hours, making the road unpleasant, congested, polluted, unsafe (lots of children played outside before)....i.e. totally the opposite of Healthy Streets and Active Travel policies.
I am all for improving the environment for walking and cycling, reducing pollution etc, but this should not be done to the detriment of neighbouring areas, particularly those in areas of deprivation.
No traffic monitors have been installed in these streets forming the rat run route parallel to the through routes closed in the LTN.
No consultation was carried out in this area either prior to the LTN.
