You love photography.
You naturally would want to get all the photo gear possible to get better photographs.
But does that naturally translate to becoming a better photographer?
Even more, would getting all the photo gear make you any more happiness than you already have?

I never thought selling 5lakhs of photography equipment will result in me enjoying my life better as a photographer.

It enabled me to see life slower than before.

And that feeling was absolutely magical.

The video showcases how my love for photography came back when I sold all my expensive photo gear & started to only use my phone as the device through which I was capturing photos/videos.

In the past 1 year, I have been to 3 places
1. Coimbatore
2. Kerela
3. Palolem Beach Goa

In all of these places, although I had all the expensive photo gear with me, I never felt like taking it out to capture what I was seeing in front of me.

Instead, I captured everything I wanted with my phone. I have a 5-year-old OnePlus6 & an old iPhone11.

Photographing with the mobile phone helped me live in the moment. Not thinking of taking shots for Instagram, but carefully looking at the world go by & if the heart desired, I'd just take out the phone to capture the moment.

I believe mobile photography has helped me in enjoying a slow life which I enjoy because it helps me be in the present.

For the purpose of storytelling, I have experienced how the mobile camera is good enough. I can vouch for that because I have previously used cameras like the Canon 80D & Sony A7III.

So when I look at the footage from my OnePlus6 & iPhone11, I can vouch how much mobile cameras have improved over the years.

Moreover, my purpose in life is always to enjoy each & every single day of my being on this wonderful planet. If all the photography gear was becoming a hindrance to my intent to tell stories, it was not necessarily helping me.

Thus deciding to sell all my photography gear & concentrating on telling stories.
