This video represents a defining chapter in my law enforcement journey—leading from the front as Chief of Police. Leadership isn’t about rank or titles—it’s about integrity, accountability, and consistently putting your people and community first.

That same mindset carried into one of the most impactful programs I’ve ever had the honor of leading:
🚔 Crisis Intervention & De-escalation Training 🧠

We pushed beyond traditional classroom instruction. We invited individuals who had personally endured mental health crises—some of whom were previously arrested during their lowest moments—and are now leading peer-run recovery programs.

These brave individuals helped run live, scenario-based training with officers.
It was raw. It was real. And it changed how we see and respond to crisis.

🎯 The goal?
✅ Build empathy
✅ Enhance communication
✅ Reduce unnecessary use of force

🚨 That said—let’s be clear: No amount of training will stop a bullet. If someone comes out shooting, officers must respond with the appropriate level of force to protect lives. That’s the harsh truth of this profession.

But the real solution lies in preventing these situations before they escalate.
