Bach - Orchestral Suite no. 4 in D major BWV 1069 - Mortensen | Netherlands Bach Society

Описание к видео Bach - Orchestral Suite no. 4 in D major BWV 1069 - Mortensen | Netherlands Bach Society

The performance by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach of the regal Orchestral Suite no. 4 in D major, which is usually performed with trumpets and timpani, has these omitted. Lars Ulrik Mortensen notes that this orchestration has long been accepted to be the original setting. “If you compare the score to other pieces by Bach, you see that elsewhere the brass instruments always have a high degree of independence compared to the rest and that this independence is lacking in the Orchestral Suite no. 4. Here, the trumpets are a supplement”.

Recorded for the project All of Bach on October 15th 2017 in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam. If you want to help us complete All of Bach, please subscribe to our channel http://bit.ly/2vhCeFB or consider donating http://bit.ly/2uZuMj5.
