Duo queue with Jill-Sandwiched playing Valerie, where we got a great Tyrone and Jill as our random teammates. This was against a Spencer who was running a supply zombie build and had lots of creatures and traps. Unfortunately for us, it was incredibly late at night for the both of us during this match (in fact, it was 4AM for me!), and so neither of us were playing at full capacity like we might otherwise have been. Plus, this was after a string of disappointing losses: some of which were because we'd gotten bad randoms, and some of which were entirely our own fault due to our poor performances.... So I wasn't expecting this one to go well either, despite having good random teammates.
Area 1 went surprisingly well, though: although I got hardly any active cameras, I noticed that the MM had spawned a supply zombie back in the security room, and I decided to take the gamble of trying to get it. Just as I hoped, the MM focused solely on me, and even though I was unable to get the supply zombie, that allowed everyone else to get the keys without issue, giving us a good start for area 2. And area 2 initially started very well, as we were able to find Yorick quickly. But as we progressed, the more chaotic things got, and ivies, infection, and traps started to hinder us at every turn. A trapsplosion downed (Val)Jill and Tyrone, but I was able to get them both with a FAS, and then Jill managed to put down her healing spray at the exit just in time before getting downed again, allowing her to revive herself. We entered area 3 with decent time, but in semi-rough shape.
In area 3, I decided to prioritize grenades, and although Jill didn't want any flashes, I took those too because I figured they couldn't hurt. It took me a while to catch up to the team on the first core, but once I did, I somehow managed to get the camera out despite the creatures. I went around for the second core, and although I stepped on lots of traps and Tyrone got downed, I was able to revive him by hand (having somehow forgotten I had two FASes) and then lock down the cameras successfully while the team worked on the core. The team then went and got the third core done without me (as I was too busy managing my inventory), but I did my best to keep the MM off the main cameras while they exited the room and resupplied for the final exit.
The final exit felt like a mess, but I guess it went better than I thought it would. I used the flash grenades that I still had liberally to cover for the team while Jill used her regular grenades to take out what she could. I then not only managed to avoid getting D-fielded, but I also got the camera after, which was a surprise to me. There were lots of explosions by the end, but we all managed to get to the exit okay and with plenty of time, making for a satisfying last match to end on, especially for it being so late at night!
