This video lecture is about the Associative Mapping Cache. The cache memory is required to balance the speed mismatch between the main memory and the CPU. It holds frequently requested data and instructions so that they are immediately available to the CPU when needed.
Cache Memory Mapping is a technique using which the contents of main memory are brought into the cache memory. In Associative Mapping, a block of main memory can be mapped to any freely available cache line. Therefore it is more flexible than direct mapping. Associative Mapping Cache Organization has discussed in detail.
Division of Physical Address is explained. It consist of Tag and Block Offset. Two examples are explained to check the condition of Cache Hit or Cache Miss.
