Mt. Louie, Grande Cache Spring Hike

This is a little video that took me months to put together. It’s of a day trip Christine and I took to Grande Cache to hike up Mt. Louie.
Mt. Louie is an approximately 11km round trip in/out hike and rises about 730 meters. It's one of the "Bronze" mountain hikes in Grande Cache Tourism's PassPort to the Peaks guide book.
The lower part of the trail is quite flat and is multi use, shared with ATVs and horses! It parallels the old canal that joins Grande Lake and Victor lake. In order to get to the Mt. Louie trail you must cross the canal by means of an old half collapsed bridge. But don’t worry, its plenty strong enough and has beefed up by locals. Once you start the climb it follows the ridge and is a steady uphill climb, not steep, but steady with few flat sections.
This hike took us about 5.5 hours as we pushed our pace and didn’t spend much time at the summit. Give it a try if you are in the area of Grande Cache!
