Ducati Multistrada 1200S Touring 2010 - Changing Timing Belts & Spark Plugs

Описание к видео Ducati Multistrada 1200S Touring 2010 - Changing Timing Belts & Spark Plugs

This video is a comprehensive strip down and reassemble of the above Motorcycle - the objective is to change the Timing Belts (not chain(s)) and to replace the Spark Plugs.

The bike has covered over 5000 miles now and is 12 years old - I presume the timing belts had been replaced prior to this. Though there were no major issues with the bike, there was the occasional 'miss' of a cylinder under no load riding. I very rarely red-line this bike, prefering to ride in a sensible (some may say boring!) fashion. I have my moments sure enough but nothing that could place my life in danger any more than it already is, riding a machine such as this.

I purchased the belts from France as they were having a special deal on genuine Ducati belts so buying them overseas saved me round £50 on UK sourced items. I purchased the Spark Plugs locally, there was little to no saving on these as price/delivery was roughly equivalent to locally sourced NGK Plugs.

The tools I've used are nothing exceptional and most can be found in a typical amateurs toolbox:

Full set of QUALITY Allen Keys
14mm Spark Plug Socket (3/8" Sq Drive)
150mm Extension (3/8" Sq Drive)
2 x Spark Plugs - MAR9A-J
2 Timing Belts (Ducati Originals)
24mm open ended spanner (or adjustable)
Torque Wrench (0 - 50NM)
Coolant
Syphon Tube

Patience and around 4 hours to complete the job
