December greeted us with a cold front that left the land frozen and covered in snow. The cold front was 2 weeks of consistent sub 20 degrees days with nights reaching 12 degrees. During this time the water under the ice holds a consistent temp and raises the oxygen percent to peak levels. Fish become active during this time and if the ice melts suddenly like it did for us, it creates an opportunity to catch some fish during the first few days of the warming weather.
