In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, Bakaiti cast Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang and Aditya Shukla open up about working together in the new series and the relatable middle-class family chaos at its heart. Sheeba Chadha emphasised that makers should call her more for comedy roles, and this is a thought that Rajesh echoes as well. Having shared the screen with Rajesh Tailang in Mirzapur and Bandish Bandits earlier, Sheeba talks about their on-screen pairing being seen as a “hit jodi” and how reuniting for Bakaiti brought even more ease and comfort in their working relationship. They explain that this familiarity helps not just as co-actors but also personally, making the collaboration natural and effortless.

Rajesh Tailang reflects on why he took on this project, sharing that Bakaiti portrays middle-class problems in a light-hearted way, rather than through tragedy. The actor wanted to explore something non-serious and fun, and insists that the series is not comedy for the sake of comedy. He recalls a hilarious behind-the-scenes moment where Sheeba kept laughing during a dialogue, forcing him to change his lines. In Bakaiti, Rajesh once again plays a lawyer, a role that reminds fans of his character Ramakant Pandit in Mirzapur. When asked what a conversation between Ramakant Pandit and Sanjay Kataria would look like, Rajesh jokingly answered that Ramakant wouldn’t even give his Bakaiti character any attention — the two simply couldn’t get along.

Aditya, who plays Sheeba and Rajesh’s son in the show, brings a fresh, youthful perspective. When asked if he fights with his brother in real life like in Bakaiti, he laughs and admits that since his brother is older, his dominance is greater. Their quarrels are usually over shoes and clothes, though they don’t fight too much. Aditya began his creative journey as a content creator at a young age, inspired by a German content creator whose work pushed him to improve his craft. He shares that he feels he can express himself more through comedy content and that making videos gave him the confidence and skills he carries into acting. Talking about his experience on Bakaiti, Aditya says he learnt a lot while working with Sheeba and Rajesh.
