Stop asking students what they want to be when they grow up and where they are going to school after graduation. Rather, ask them what they want to do and help them determine the intrinsic motivation they are pursuing from their work. Then help them discover what job titles and what level of education is necessary for that job and help them plan accordingly. These are some of the facets of the Red Wing Winger Flight Paths program that aims to help students make a more informed choice on their next steps after graduation. Attendees will be given an overview of our 8th grade Intro to Flight Paths course that exposes students to all 16 different career clusters, our Winger Flight Paths Booklet that guides students to be more intentional on their course selection, and our pursuits to increase the equitable nature of our career speaker sessions for students.
